FRASER
RIVER

The
Fraser is in amazing shape for
this time of the year. The water
levels are much lower than average
and the water almost now has a
green tinge to it. With the recent
warm blast of weather this might
jump up levels in the next week.

Sturgeon fishing has been very
good with average day trips yielding
6 to 10 fish and usually a number
of fish between 3 and 5 feet,
some 5 to 7 feet and a few over
8 feet. Fishing has been good
from Vancouver to Yale and we
expect it to get even better in
the months to come. Best baits
have been Roe, Eulachon and Pike
Minnows.
Lots
of Chinook (King Salmon) in the
river right now and Bar Fishing
method is producing well for adult
and jack Chinook. Book now for
your summer and fall fishing dates.

VEDDER/CHILLIWACK
RIVER
This
river is in very good shape and the Chinook (Kings)
are starting to show up. Look for deeper pools
to hold most fish. Lickman, Slesse and Tamahi
are key areas to target. These fish are powerful
and will give anglers an amazing battle.
It
won’t be long before we see Sockeye in this
river migrating to Chilliwack Lake, please release
these fish gently. Coho (Silvers) and Chums are
only a few months away.
Our
company offers walk and wade instructional trips.
This is a great way to learn new techniques, proper
fish handling and identification of all species.
This is a big part of being a responsible angler
in B.C. waters.

On
May 24TH / 2010 JIMMY HOUSTON OUTDOORS on VERSUS
(OLN) fished Sturgeon with Great River Fishing
Adventures on the FRASER RIVER, British Columbia.
This is the 1st time Jimmy has ever been Sturgeon
fishing and what a thrill he got with the 2 days
of unbelievable action. Jimmy
Houston, Americas Favorite Fisherman,
will be talking about this fishing adventure for
many years to come and will hopefully be back
to Sturgeon fish
again in the World Sturgeon Classic Big Game Tournament
in the coming years. Check it out on VERSUS (OLN)
A
legendary angler, Jimmy was inducted in to the
National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 1990
and the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame
in 2002. He was inducted into the IGFA Freshwater
Fishing Hall of Fame and the Legends of the Outdoors
Hall of Fame in 2008. Jimmy was named King of
Sports for Fishing in 1989
“The fish we’d caught beforehand jumped
some, but that last one Sherri caught, it smoked
out about 100 yards of line, jumped, went down
and smoked out another 200 yards just like that,
and then jumped again,” he says. “I
mean, that thing got all the way out of the water.
It was amazing. I mean, it was really something
to see that fish smoke off 300 yards of line and
come out of the water like it did.”
As
you can see we caught some very large Sturgeon
and Great River Fishing Adventures is the guiding
company that can really put you in to some incredible
days of fishing!
